Terriann & Todd’s Wedding Album

We were fortunate enough to be able to attend the wedding of Terriann & Todd. We made the trip to St. Louis yesterday morning to meet snow on the ground and temperatures that felt like the upper twenties. Everyone was in high spirits as the wedding took place. Terriann was beatiful and didn’t seem nervous at all. I think I even saw her dad cry!!! The little neices and nephews were out in the weather with their coats and jackets and as Terriann came out a married woman, all of them came up to give her hugs and congratulations. If you want to see the online album I created for her just CLICK HERE.

Tornados

Wall Cloud

If you are from around here then you know the storms we had the week before last. The radio said that there were 130 tornados that touched down Sunday night on the 13th of March. It destroyed over a hundred homes not 20 miles away from us. The Saturday before we were having a birthday party for our oldest and it got cut short after looking at this out of our back porch.

We heard it on the radio..they said for our area you should take shelter and trained spotters have seen a wall cloud. I guess that is a precursor to tornados. My wife and kids took shelter in our neighbors basement and I headed to shoot the Lady Panthers game. When I got to the gym, they had just finished bringing everyone back up from the basement. They evacuated the whole place due to the tornado warning. It is definately not something to be dealt with lightly, and that Sunday night we spent a lot of time with our neighbors.

Our prayers and thoughts are with those who suffered physical and personal losses from this last storm.

Dawson

Dawson

I was able to do some photos of Dawson over the weekend. He was a fun little boy that is about to turn two. He definately liked our Little Tikes dump truck that we have here at the studio. Every child is fun to take pictures of and they all react differently to the environment they are placed in. I’ve found that a majority of them do well in our studio because we let them be themselves. We don’t do any physical posing (besides when the parents want it) and we just let them play. You get great expressions that let their personalities come through this way.

Each child has a different time frame that they are “happy” for pictures. We’ve had them where 5 minutes was it. We’ve had them where they didn’t want to leave. We’ve also had them where it took over an hour and a half to warm up to the camera. The best thing is to have some toys they like and just to be patient and let them be themselves.

Drury Photos

Drury Photos

These are some photos of Karen. I wish I could remember what her job was. 🙁 Whoops. But I do know that she’s been a part of Drury for over Thirty Years. She’s helped developed many of the programs that are available at Drury and responsible in some ways for many of the newer building projects. She told me that since she has been there that she has seen all the new buildings built and all the older buildings renovated. She was there when the library was put in. She had lots of stories about Drury and you could really tell that she cared about it. If half of us cared that much about something, it would be a different world we lived in.

Drury Games

Drury Series

These are a few of my favorite images from the recent Drury Lady Panters games. They were hosting a Division II NCAA Tournament at Weiser Gym. They made it to the final game and unfortunately didn’t continue. The fans were amazingly loud and were absolutely good fans. They were as dissapointed as the players were. They did have a good season and this was the third year in a row they’ve hosted the Tournament.

Armorthane Truck Photos

Armorthane Photo Shoot

I never meant for an update to take this long. It has been a good two weeks since I’ve posted some meaty information to my blog. Well guess what. Tonight is the night. I’ve got 4 collages to show you guys from the shoots I’ve had thes past little while. This first one is a collage of some Armorthane photos I did for a couple of days. This stuff is pretty durable and just looks plain good as a bedliner. We threw a bunch of stuff in the back of the truck, concrete, wood, hay and we took a boat in and out a dozen times. All of that and it still looked like new. When I get a truck, I’m going to get that stuff put on the bedliner.

The last week.

I know its been a while since I’ve updated anything on here and I feel bad about it. I really do. The whole idea was to continually show new things that I’ve been shooting. Within this past week I’ve shot 3 Drury Lady Panthers games, a portrait shoot on Drury campus and yesterday we finished the first of a two part day out with another truck for armorthane. So, between those 5 things, I’ve taken over 5,260 pictures. I’ll be out today shooting all day and tonight I’m going to have some of these photos that I’ve been taking to show everyone.

Trucks & Sleet

Some Photos of the Truck

We started Saturday morning like any normal morning. Except we skipped the morning part. I was hoping to sleep in a bit and kind of lounge around but I had to meet up with my brother at 9am and get things together at the studio to take with me.

Our destination was Nixa. Our assignment was to get some pictures of his friend’s truck in a “work environment”. We went scouting yesterday for spots that would look good with his new F-150.

We drove around the outskirts of Nixa for quite a while on Friday and finally found a place that we thought would work. We talked to the owner and he gave us permission to shoot in front of his barn. There were a couple of other places we thought looked like we could use and would just stop in and shoot. One was a dozed field with some big logs cut up. Their was some private property to the west of us but it was 150 yards away. I thought it looked like it was city owned and being prepped for some construction.

We headed out to the barn first, got our round of pictures done there and then drove a bit to the lot. We got the truck into position and had the camera set up when, come to find out, the owner drives up to let us know we were on private property. Whoops. We graciously apologized telling him we didn’t know and were packing up to leave. He told us he had just had too many things stolen from there and was weary of anyone pulling up in a truck, even in broad daylight. I talked to him for a bit and explained what we were doing. After that he said we could shoot the pictures. I’m glad he did cause they look really good.

I’ll have to remember to take a sample out to him when we get them printed off.

We are also getting our new Wedding packages up and ready this year. We are going to offer a couple of lines of fine art wedding albums that are extremely nice. Once we get the prices figured out we will post them on a link along side our portfolio and contact links.

Photos of Tigerettes

We had a couple more Tigerettes visit us in the studio this week. They were sick or not able to attend when the dance team came in to get their photos done.

We welcomed them into the studio this evening, and after they ran back home to pick up some forgotten clothes we were able to get their photos done.
