Portraits

What makes up a portrait.  Well for one, there needs to be someone in the photo.  You.  You make a portrait so special.  Without you, it would just be a photo of a background, a place outdoors, or the grass or rocks around.  You give a portrait life, you make it important.  You make a portrait an heirloom.  Something your family will treasure for generations.  You give the portrait a meaning to exist.  Without you, there is no purpose of a portrait.

What do I specialize in.  Portraits of you.  417-894-0230

Family

Spring break has come and gone.  On it’s way out, it left a little reminder that things are not always for sure.  One week ago today the kids were outside in their swim trunks playing in the sprinkler.  Today they were bundled up in their coats with a fresh layer of snow on the ground.  While they head back to school I sit here thinking about my family.  They are so dear to me and I wanted to share some reasons why:

1.     They bring the best out in me.  Kids especially need help in just about every area imaginable.  They need love, guidance, discipline, patience and a general being there for them.  It allows me to really dig deep within to find out what kind of person I am.

2.     They are so forgiving.  I’m not a perfect person.  I’m far from it.  I get upset, I do things wrong, and sometimes say the wrong things at the wrong times.  But notwithstanding, they still love me and give me hugs at night.

3.     Their smiles and laughs melt me inside.  To hear them upstairs, or in the other room playing and laughing together just makes you happy inside.  When your family is happy, you are happy.

4.     They teach me.  I am being taught every day by my family.  From things I’ve forgotten about school, to being nice to others.  Not a day goes by without a lesson in life.

5.     They are individuals.  No matter what I try to teach or share with my kids, they are their own person.   They are not me, they are not their mother.  They are themselves 100% through and through.  I would never change that for anything.  They are each unique in their own way and they all have their strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes just like me.  It definitely makes for some awesome times.

So, if you are thinking about the reasons you love your family like I am now.  Be sure to let them know how much you love and care for them.  Give them hugs, do something special for them.  Don’t let a day go by without expressing to them your feelings toward them.

Don’t let Fall Pass You By.

Fall is here.  Soon the beautiful leaves won’t be.  Don’t hesitate, get your photos done before the weather turns cold.  Get the beautiful fall colors while they are going on outdoors.  Get them done in time for Christmas!  So many reasons to get your photos done now!  Do I have to list them all?

Karisa on a Friday

Yesterday Karisa came into the studio for her 2011 Senior Photos.  She was SO MUCH FUN to photograph!  She had her braces off so of course her smile was out of this world!!!  I couldn’t wait to share one of Karisa with everybody.  If you also look in the Facebook Fan Page, you’ll see another of my favorites from her session.  I seriously can’t wait to show them all to her!

Welcome to August

Well, technically it is August 2nd.  And this month….yes….School starts up again.  Where does the time go?  I can’t even believe how fast it has gone.  I still want to take a trip if I can.  One last big trip with the family before it’s back to the books.  Any ideas where I should go?  Well while you think it over, take a look at this recent smash the cake baby session!

How about these?

Getting Married soon?  Don’t wait to book your photographer!  Me!  🙂  Seriously, your wedding day is important, but you must remember that the cake you eat, the reception hall is only there for an evening, the tuxes have to be returned in the morning, and you only have the limo for a few hours.  What’s left?  Only the memories that are created from your photographer or videographer!  That’s how important we are as professionals.  Anyone can take a snapshot of a wedding.  But a true artist can capture and create custom artwork for you.

Summer Heat

Steven and I were able to shoot outside today before it got too blazing hot!!!

Also, next week I’ll be putting our new pricing online so you can see what you’d like to get before you come in!
